It annually places among the top 5% of universities in Taiwan on humanities and basic sciences. Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Science and NCCU has started collaborating at the faculty level on Biotechnology and Biomedicine with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) being exchanged between the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University and of NCCU on 21 August, 2014.
Activity description
International Workshop on Cancer Biology and Signaling between Chulalongkorn University and National Chung Cheng University (CU-NCCU Workshop) was successfully organized as a two-day event. The topics presented at the Workship ranging from cancer epigenomics, cancer signaling in liver cancer and brain cancer, cancer therapy using virus and epigenetics in fetal alcoholic syndromes.
The conference was highly successful with 2 plenary and 9 invited lectures of leading scientists in the field from Chulalongkorn University and NCCU. One speaker was from Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. Participants were from academics within Thailand and some were from private sector in life science research.
During the CU-NCCU workshop, the lively discussion among speakers and participants were seen that signified a great interest in the field of cancer biology and signaling. Besides basic research, some medical professional from Faculty of Medicine and Veterinary Sciences were also present.
