"Thai-German Cooperation: The Role of German Political Foundations in Thailand"

Chula Global Network, the Thai German Society, and the German-Southeast Asian Center of Excellence for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPG), Faculty of Law, Thammasat University, will jointly organize a workshop on ‘Thai-German Cooperation - the Roles of German Political Foundations in Thailand’. The objective of the workshop is to enable interested people to gain more information about the roles of the German Political Foundations in Thailand through presentations by their representatives and by those Thai counterparts. Discussion and Q & A session will also provide the opportunity for exchange of opinions and experiences among all participants.
German Political Foundations in Thailand represent German Political Parties in Germany: Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) for the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) for the Social Democratic Party of Germany, Friedrich Naumann Stiftung (FNS) for Free Democratic Party of Germany, Heinrich Böll Stiftung (HBS) for the Green Party, and the Hanns Seidel Stiftung for the Christian Social Union. Reflecting the philosophy and political concepts of the Political Parties in Germany, all the German Political Foundations have their long tradition and activities, not only in Thailand, but also in Europe and in other Asian countries.
The common aims of the German Political Foundations in Thailand are put into practice by their activities. It is very interesting for many Thai Institutions, academics, and general public to be informed deeply more from the first hands about their roles, their impact on Thai society through their projects and activities, particularly about their co-operations with Thai Institutions and Thai society, their success, difficulties working with the Thai sides, also about problems and failure or obstacles to implement their philosophy and goals in Thailand.
