Public Lecture “Global Economic Prospects”
Chula Global Network (CGN) in collaboration with Centre for European Studies, Chulalongkorn University held a public lecture “Global Economic Prospects” by Prof. Dr. Rolf J. Langhammer, Vice-President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy on Monday 26 April 2010 at the Rotary Peace Centre Conference Room, 2nd Fl., Witthayapattana Bldg., Chulalongkorn University.
Mr. Langhammer having professional working experience more than 15 years at the Kiel University shared his perspectives on the economic prospects that the world has mastered the crisis. In addition, he discussed the reasons why a more skeptical view is justified and what are further elements of the first global economic crisis of the 21st century such as the financial sector crisis, the adjustment problems of the real sector and the exit options of the fiscal and monetary authorities. Lastly, he concluded with a challenging view on the next years to come for both emerging and industrialized economies.
